The Old Ways 05: Wood and Repair | Printable DIY Field Reference | Traditional Repair and Woodworking Skills | Fix It Guide | Digital PDF

Before we replaced things, we fixed them.

The Old Ways: Wood & Repair collects 18 practical ideas for making, mending and keeping useful things going.

Explore wood grain, splitting, sharpening, wooden pegs and wedges, simple patches, handle repairs, plugging holes, basic cloth and leather repair, protecting wood, maintaining tools and making do with what you have.

This isn’t fine furniture school.

It’s a celebration of something simpler: being capable enough to fix the thing in front of you.

Keep the cards in the workshop. Give them to the kid who wants to learn. Print a set for the person who refuses to throw anything away until they’ve tried fixing it at least twice.

They’ll understand.
